I have never been more disappointed. I made an initial appointment with Dr. Mason and arrived 15 minutes early as instructed becasue I was a new patient. My appointment was for 3:00. I waited over an hour and a half to see this dr and I didn't leave the office until almost 5:30 due to the constant delays. When I did see Dr. Mason, he spent more time talking directly to his assistant than he did me. Against my better judgement, I decided to attend the scheduled follow up appointment. My appointment was for 3:15 and I arrived at 3. After waiting an hour, I walked up to the desk and asked for my copay to be refunded and my appointment cancelled. The office assistant's response was, "You only have one more person ahead of you. Are you sure you can't wait?" I was speechless. That meant, after waiting an hour, I would still have to wait additional time for this one person ahead of me to be seen. Meanwhile, patients of other doctors in the practice were coming and going left and right. I can only assume this is a Dr. Mason issue and not an entire Emory Ortho problem. I recommend you try a dr in this practice OTHER THAN Dr. Mason unless you just have hours of free time to sit in a dr's office. Maybe Dr. Mason needs to understand that Atlanta is full of other orthopedic drs and no matter how great he must think he is that pt's are willing to wait hours on end to see him, there are always other options!
